Chief Data Officer appointments and building a top-class Data & Analytics team

JSS were instructed to deliver a CDO with a big 4 background. One of our transform partners was Eddie Short – a big 4 analytics partner.
Eddie was parachuted in to rapidly design their Data & Analytics strategy. Upon this, they asked him to deliver it, Eddie ended up going permanent and over the next four years built a best in class data and analytics team.

Post M&A

  • PE Firm - Carve out programme from WPP. Interims for carve-out PMO and TOM delivery, Treasury and Technical Accounting for newly created group function. 
  • PE Firm (€10bn) – Interims for post merger integration programme and stand up of new group accounting and treasury practice. Data integration and migration programme 
  • Software & Consultancy – (FTSE 75)Interims for post-merger finance and data programme. Parachuted in a team to work with the COO to rescue (Big 4 failed as SI) the Data elements and management of new SI (Wipro) of a failing PMI/ERP/CRM Programme. 
  • Pharmaceutical (€2bn)- Interims for post merger integration programme and stand up of new group accounting and treasury practice. Data integration and migration.
  • PE Firm – PMI Programme Director and PMO. Supporting a major integration between two global software houses. 

ERP & SSC Programmes

  • PE Firm Investment ($2bn) - full end to end and GBS roll out via SOW and delivered remotely during lock down. (Global/Dubai)
  • Global Consultancy (FTSE 150) – Oracle Fusion recovery / optimisation. (London) – interim Finance Process leads, training and testing leads. 
  • Airlines/Travel (FTSE 100) – SAP Success Factors- appointed programme leadership prior to lockdown.
  • Global PE– 4 back-to-back finance transformations. Interims to deliver global SSC/GBS programmes. PMO, Change, Process Leads (P2P/O2C/R2R), FP&A, Robotics, AI and IFRS Project Leads. 
  • Water Services -Large-scale S4/Hana ERP optimisation programme - Engaged by the Programme Director to build a team responsible for delivery over an 18-month period. Interim team of 12: Included Senior Project Managers, Solution Architects, Testers, Functional Consultants and a PMO team – (Nelson, Wales)

  • Telecommunications - Appointed the CDAO on an interim to permanent basisWe delivered a number of senior interims responsible for supporting a large-scale data transformation. Roles include Head of Data Enablement, Head of Data Science, Head of Portfolio Management and multiple interim Data SME’s. Governance, Architecture and BI & Analytics, Data platforms. (Slough)
